OCTOBER Autumn colour,  especially the Japanese maples

There is no need to pre-book tickets

GROUP VISITS

Groups of over 25 people are welcome 10am-4pm on days other than those listed above. 

Smaller groups of 15-25 people may also visit 10am-4pm on open days, but if arriving by coach, please be aware that parking may be limited. We are not able to offer lunches and teas for visiting groups. A guided tour with Keith Wiley, will not be available on open days and needs to be pre-booked on other days.  Please email wildside.plants@gmail.com to discuss costs and requirements. Please note we are unable to accept un-booked groups.

FAMILIES 

Families with young children should be aware that pathways are narrow and unsuitable for pushchairs. We recommend the use of baby carriers. There are also a number of unfenced ponds in the garden. Parents and carers should be careful to supervise children at all times.

ACCESSIBILITY

Unfortunately, the narrow, stony, and occasionally steep paths that make pushing a buggy rather difficult, are equally troublesome for wheelchairs.  The Courtyard section of the garden is, however, fully wheelchair-accessible, and there are many seats around the garden, so we find many visitors are able to take the garden a little at a time, and enjoy the views from each stopping point while they take a breather.  As part of our cancer respite project, we are saving up for an off-road all-terrain wheelchair. Please let us know if you know of one going spare!

DOGS

While dogs, other than assistance dogs, are not allowed in the garden, there is ample opportunity for unlimited ‘walkies’ on the moor just over a mile away, before or after your visit.
